the self-on kode with karina had boosted your popularity as a solo member immensely. you find yourself invited to another show; nothing much prepared. yet, you weren’t exactly alone this time.

your manager drops you off in front of an apartment complex. waving goodbye to him, and with a promise to not stir up any trouble, you enter the apartment building, nerves trembling. reaching the lobby, you press on the call button, dialling in lee youngji’s apartment number.

“hello!” you greet as youngji’s face comes into view.

“oh my,” youngji gasps, “hurry up before i leave!”

“this is your house though?” the video ends abruptly. you laugh as you enter the lift.

the lift slowly brings you up, a stranger eyeing you weirdly. pulling up the mask closer to your face, you resist the urge to run away.

the lift dings, and you exit, turning corners to finally reach her apartment. pressing on the doorbell gingerly, you start to remove your shoes. you hear youngji’s rapid footsteps as she approaches.

“y/n-ssi!” youngji shrieks. cheers resound from the small crowd of staff. cameras and lights form a semicircle, capturing your every move. you smile shyly at everyone, waving your hand.

“welcome to my house!”

“Is this your actual house?” you ask, “not like a set?”

youngji laughs, “what makes you think i can afford a set like this? of course it’s my actual house!” you nod, grin plastered on your face as you sit down on the cushion. youngji immediately starts introducing the various food items she prepared for you.

yet, when she points at a certain plate, your eyes widen in recognition as she states, “that’s for our other guest, she likes tonkatsu.”

“other guest…?” you repeat, “my manager didn’t say anything about another guest.”

youngji grins at you apologetically, “because we didn’t inform him about it! no worries, you should be well-acquainted with her!”

the staff laughs at your reaction, glaring at youngji who paces around the room.

the webcam rings again. you try to soothe your nerves by slurping up the noodles youngji had prepared. acquainted with you? and someone who likes tonkatsu? you couldn’t believe it. could youngji really manage to get..?

“karina unnie! welcome back to my house!” your heart drops.

the familiar idol peeks around the corner.

“y/n?” jimin gapes. you share a similar reaction. youngji claps gleefully at the interaction.

“welcome back my favourite unnie and my newest unnie!” your eyes narrow while jimin’s crinkle into an eye smile.

“please take a seat next to y/n unnie!” you tense up before shifting slightly to accommodate for the unexpected arrival. jimin grins, sitting down with her humongous bag. “hi, nice to see you again. you haven’t replied to my message yet.”

“i was busy,” you reply in a low voice. jimin only rolls her eyes and moves in closer. you feel your throat constrict at the closeness.

“youngji, can i have water please?” you ask. the girl mentioned immediately brings out a large bottle from the fridge, placing it on the table. she clears her throat, “okay, now that we are all settled! today we have y/n-ssi and karina-ssi!”

you cheer awkwardly along with the staff.

“this is the first time we have two people from different groups!” youngji exclaims, “unnie, of course, has been here before and y/n is here for the first time.”

youngji turns to you, “have you watched unnie’s episode?”

“ah… no i haven’t…” you glance at jimin apologetically. the idol turns to you, affronted.

“y/n, that’s so hurtful!” jimin pouts. you look away, coughing to mask the choking sensation caused by her big puppy eyes.

you take a large gulp of alcohol, youngji laughs at your expense.

“have you watched any of y/n-ssi’s content recently then?” youngji prompts.

jimin sighs, hands going to massage her temples exaggeratedly, “of course! i watched her vlog to japan and her dazed interview.”

you try to hide your red face behind the glass of alcohol, eyes darting from jimin’s piercing gaze.

“y/n-ssi, did you hear that? unnie has been keeping up with your content!” your ears flush maroon.

“sorry… i’ve been busy with stuff,” you defend yourself. jimin giggles, sipping on her miniature cup. her posture seems relaxed and calm, of course, since this would be her second time appearing on the show. meanwhile, you sit upright, meekly staring at youngji.

“how have you guys been? aespa’s having a comeback, right?”

jimin brightens up, “yes, it’s our first full album. we have a pre-release single called supernova and our title track is armageddon! please show lots of love since it will be our first time promoting a full album!” the staff breaks out in applause. you clap along.

“y/n-ssi!” youngji calls out, “are you going to buy their album?” you gape at youngji, “uh, sure!”

“shouldn’t you ask unnie for a signed copy?”

“ah… uhm, karina-ssi—”

jimin pouts at you, “call me unnie and i’ll give it to you!”

you feel faint at the close proximity of her beauty.

“unnie…”

the idol laughs, patting you on the back, “youngji, isn’t she so cute? her reaction is the opposite of minjeong but they’re both so funny.”

“what’s your mbti? wait no— i’ll guess!” youngji shrieks. even before she opens her mouth a second time, jimin swiftly answers, “istj!”

“oh, sorry, but even if you’re older than me you can’t just interrupt like that,” youngji deadpans. you choke on the water you were drinking. jimin only swats at the host, “i was helping you. you definitely couldn’t guess her mbti.”

you cough, “jimin is correct.”

“unnie, you’re istj? wow!”

“i think it’s quite obvious, no?” you ask, pointing at yourself. jimin shoots you a smile.

“how do you guys feel about your episode on self-on kode reaching five million views? it’s one of the most popular videos now. please say something to the camera,” youngji asks. jimin nudges you while she takes a bite out of the tonkatsu. you blush thinking about the video.

“i’m thankful for all of jimin’s fans who watched the video and enjoyed our interaction. it was my first time appearing solo and i was worried that my personality would be too timid and shy. but i’m glad our fans liked the video,” you smile at the camera, “to all the mys and fearnots, i love you all.”

youngji sighs, “unnie.”

“yes?”

“should we just get married? i think i should pay more taxes to witness your smile.”

jimin interrupts again, cheeks puffed with food, “no!”

the subtitle underneath would read, ‘in a fight between whales, the shrimp is the one that gets hurt.’

“y/n is mine,” jimin says after swallowing. you just stare at her incredulously.

“unnie, you can’t just claim people like that! what if y/n unnie doesn’t like you!”

“i don’t care, i met her first.” you think this side of jimin is incredibly childish. and cute.

youngji frowns but then bursts out into laughter, “okay let’s say, we share y/n unnie.”

jimin shakes her head.

“okay, pick between, no shin-chan or no y/n— let’s play a balance game!” your eyes widen as youngji yells. maybe too much energy was a bad thing.

“three, two, one, answer!”

jimin huffs, “no y/n…”

you chuckle, of course jimin’s love for shin-chan would prevail. you roughly remember the boo keychain she had given you last time after the shoot ended, thankful that you dealt with her nonsense.

you didn’t bother telling her you had fun. she could probably tell from the smile on your face.

“lee youngji, jay park or y/n? three, two, one—”

youngji slams the table, scoffing, “unnie, let’s just continue the shoot without you.”

jimin claps gleefully. as the idol laughs, her hand comes striking down on your back. you yelp in pain, surprised by the forcefulness of her slap.

“—oh! i’m sorry!”

you narrow your eyes at jimin, “was that on purpose?”

“i would never slap someone like that on purpose!” jimin was such a liar. you’ve been her victim many times.

“unnie, even y/n unnie is scared of you,” youngji says, bringing out a candy ring from her pocket, “that’s why, y/n unnie should marry me instead.”

you laugh loudly, reaching out your hand to receive the ring.

“hey, didn’t you give me a shin-chan ring?”

“that was in the past, it is all about the future—”

“i’m going to slap you next!”

while the two bicker, you slip on the ring, yet it doesn’t fit quite as snug as you hoped. a little loose around the edges, jimin notices your call for help. deft fingers wrap around yours, trying to tighten the ring. a snippet of her tongue pokes out, eyes focused on securing the ring. your eyes flicker to her face. it’s adorable how jimin is so concentrated.

“there,” her eyes shone, “it’s secure now.”

you look back at her, mumbling, “thank you, jimin.”

a voice breaks your eye contact, “i’m sorry, but is this a blind date? am i interrupting? should i leave?” youngji stands up.

you hastily try to pull her arm back to sit down, “no!”

“yes!” jimin nods. you glare at jimin, who pouts again. what was god thinking when he made jimin? did he not consider how many heart attacks her pout would cause?

“ah, young love,” youngji sighs, lamenting as she sits down again, “unnie has mentioned you countless times on bubble.”

“oh, really?” you turn to jimin, in disbelief.

jimin scowls, “lee youngji, don’t buy my bubble just to tease me.”

“i didn’t buy your bubble!”

“ah, you bought mark’s one, right?” you ask, remembering the episode with twice. youngji nods excitedly, “you watched nayeon and chaeyoung unnie’s episode?”

you nod, “i’m a once, it was a very fun episode.”

“unnie, flatter me more and i’ll ask them to text you.”

laughing, you shake your head, “it’s okay, i’m happy being a once and watching their content.”

“i heard you were a fan of got7 too.”

“yes, ahgase was actually my nickname in the self-on kode episode.”

“jimin unnie, you said you liked older women in the episode,” youngji asks, “how did you feel when you found out y/n unnie is younger?”

“of course i was still happy! i liked y/n ever since lesserafim debut,” jimin says, “and park y/n, you watch twice but not aespa content?”

your eyes widen as you shake your hands in front of you, denying, “no, i watched twice’s episode a long time ago! i didn’t have time to watch yours!”

“what if it was minjeong who came? would you watch it?”

at this point, jimin was just having fun teasing you.

“i really didn’t have time,” you whine. jimin sighs dramatically, “maybe i’m the only one putting in effort in this friendship.”

“jimin unnie, i think you should consider acting,” youngji says out of the blue, “like a first love turned ex type of drama.”

jimin laughs. you could definitely imagine jimin acting. but maybe for the sake of your sanity, she shouldn’t act in any romance drama for now.

“have you guys met recently after the self-on kode episode? all your fans have been wondering and ah! did you see the article about y/nrina’s outing?”

you roughly recalled such an article. chaewon had showed it to you. it was a few weeks after the episode had aired and jimin wanted to go out. you had agreed, and unbeknownst to the two of you, there was a fan who took a photo of you at the restaurant.

“we went to a photobooth, and to the arcade. i think fearnots may know but jimin won a plushie there, the cute cat one that i posted on weverse. then we went to go eat.”

youngji pulls out a piece of paper, the photo printed on it.

“lee youngji, what is this prop?” jimin asks.

“newest edition to our show!” youngji says proudly, pointing at the two familiar figures, “can you explain this photo?” it was the trending photo of jimin and you fighting over the bill before jimin ended up handing her card to the waiter, happily smiling at you.

“jimin wanted to pay the bill and i disagreed, wanting to split half-half,” you explain, “we played rock paper scissors and jimin won, so she paid.”

jimin grins, looping her arm through yours, “but next time y/n is paying!”

“next time, will you guys invite me too?”

“sure!” you exclaim, “we can go eat pork belly. let’s shake on it!” you extend your hand, grasping youngji’s and shaking in a firm grip.

youngji pulls back, eyeing her hand as she says, “i’m never washing this hand again.”

“lee youngji—”

“ah, unnie, isn’t it time for you to go home?” youngji perks up. jimin shakes her head, “i wanna stay here longer.”

“unnie, don’t make me call your manager,” youngji turns to you for help.

you sigh, grabbing jimin’s humongous bag and trying to get her to stand up, “jimin, please get up.”

jimin resists for a few seconds. you smile shyly at her. she finally relents.

turning to the camera, you grin, “thank you for inviting us today, youngji! i had a lot of fun and so did jimin.”

“thank you for coming!” youngji smirks, “and thank you for dragging unnie home! let’s stay in contact y/n unnie!”

you wave goodbye at the crew and drag the frowning jimin out of the apartment. after successfully reaching the door, you put on your shoes. jimin’s arms wrap around your back as she sighs, “y/n…”

“hm? what is it?”

“i want a kiss.”

you smack her shoulder, “no, get off me.”

“please y/n! i didn’t even tease you that much this time! and if youngji can ask for your hand in marriage, you should allow your girlfriend to ask for a kiss!”

“on the cheek.”

“no!” jimin points at her lips, “here!”

glossy, red and plump. your eyes zero in, but you shake your head, “no, jimin. control yourself. we’re still outside youngji’s apartment.”

jimin huffs, sulking as she puts on her shoes.

“in the lift,” you say, “i’ll give you a kiss in the lift.”

your girlfriend perks up, tying her shoelaces with a speed unknown to mankind. you giggle at her eagerness.

“y/n, hurry up!” jimin yells, pulling your arm towards the lift lobby.

nothing has really changed. you still can’t find yourself denying yu jimin. even after she’s become your girlfriend.

this is too meta for me, but it’s long-awaited i suppose! im not sure how to do this honestly, nor do i have the words for what happened. even still, none of it feels real and its all something im not sure i will ever fully process, but we’ll try this together

as most of you know, roughly an hour before my first show started, i tweeted a picture of my location on the floor with the caption, “they don’t know i’m gaylor throwbacks”! what most of you don’t know though is that one lurker on twitter, the biggest gaylor of us all, took that statement and made it her personal mission. standing within feet of the stage as one of the only people in the stadium wearing daisies and being with someone in a KWK cap, i stood out very distinctly, and the very moment she was able to, taylor began searching my section. after spotting my friend and i, taylor then took genuinely every opportunity she could throughout the night to interact with and sing to us. we weren’t able to find everything, but i fear the video several kind friends of mine have put together will have to speak for itself (although i will add commentary for a few things). side note: i’m so beyond thankful for them, the making of this video, and all of the livestreams/recordings in general as i did not have my phone out for most of the concert

after spotting us on the highest platform during the man, my friend held up their kode with klossy hat during fearless to which taylor mouthed, “AW,” before giving us the widest smile and scrunching her nose up at us. and once the song ended, she rushed back over to our side to toss me the lover guitar pick she had been using

enchanted is when the rain truly started and after pointing at us while singing the line, “walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy / vanished when i saw your face,” she excitedly turned back to us to comment on it

cardigan…? i can’t talk about it.

throughout the entirety of champagne problems (and a lot of the night, really), my friend and i held up heart hands (🫶) to taylor as a means of encouragement and way to send our love. most of the times she looked up while playing the song was to look directly at us. after she finished performing, taylor walked over to where we were standing, made eye contact with me, and mouthed, “i love you”

by the 1989 set, my disability had me feeling faint and thankfully, my friend got me to the front to sit against the barricade with security before i lost consciousness. i spent the rest of the show there, alternating between passing out, singing along from the floor, and forcing myself to stand once taylor was near. and that is where the anti-hero serenade took place: standing at the very front of the barricade

after the show, friends of mine also let me know what was being said during the livestream chats: swifties believed that travis must have been at the show due to the overwhelming amount of times she looked at one specific location. that location being mine.

my final, scattered thoughts: let this be a reminder that as much as we see taylor, she sees us as well. be kind, spread love. and taylor, if you’re seeing this, thank you endlessly for the night(s) of my life; i’ll never forget it. as a fan of ~15 years getting to see you for the first time, never in my wildest dreams could i have imagined the experience i would have. love you more than words. thank you for everything, and most importantly, for just being you

seri laughed out loud at that. “they must let their younger friends pull pranks on them, huh?”

jeno gave his phone a skeptical look "zhong chenle... this is ridiculous, am i actually being pranked by chenle again?”

n: you seem like a nice person to let someone younger than you mess with you

n: your younger friends must find it funny

n: my younger friends become babies when they’re with me

"it isn't chenle," jeno tilted his head with a curious smile, "it feels almost like this person is in an idol group, too"

m: are you perhaps an idol?

m: is that why you’re nyangi? your fans say you look like a cat?

seri looked to her right curiously “how did he figure that out so fast? or was that a lucky guess?”

jeno laughed at the momentary lack of answer, "i must be right"

interview seri: i deducted they must be an idol too. by that logic, they’re an idol who’s known to look like a puppy, right?

n: ooooh, you’re right

m: good

m: so you like music?

n: i do!

Decided to post my persona!! This is Kodee, how I draw myself and also half an oc, since he does have a backstory

He was an Angel, until he fell. This is the art of the fall, one of my favorite things I’ve drawn. The reason for the fall is more of personal matter for me. It has to do with my thoughts on religion, how people use their religion to cover their hatred. My mom’s side is kind of religious and pretty close minded. I lost faith in religion after my mom passed away when I was still a teenager, I started seeing the flaws more clearly. And once I realized I was trans, well religion became scary.

I’ve found a better place now, I’ve been dabbling with other stuff and finding my own faith, finding where I’m accepted and proud to be myself. Kodee is my preferred name, it was a name I had originally given to my first Oc (has never been drawn) who still has a big place in my heart, and his name was a gift, it helped me become me. I’ve always made myself a type of demon character, because how much I’ve heard it was “wrong” I decided to live my truth, and if that means being seen as a demon, well so be it!

1. Thanks for taking the time, Karlie! How were you first introduced to Thorne and why do you trust us?

Certainly! I first heard about Thorne from my nutritionist and was drawn to the brand’s meticulous focus on clean, high-quality ingredients. Thorne’s dedication to quality and science is why I trust them. Their process is super transparent, which gives me peace of mind that I’m properly fueling my body.

2. What does the “Find Your Way” message mean to you and how do you embody that in your everyday life? 

For me, it’s about staying curious, finding your own personal way to the healthiest and most meaningful life possible. It’s very authentic to the way I live my life because I’m constantly having to balance my variety of interests and aspirations with my daily health regimen, and overall busy lifestyle.

A lot of people know me for starting my career in fashion as a young girl, but modeling is just one facet of my career – my path has never been linear.

I went back to school, learned to code, and started Kode With Klossy, an organization to teach other young women and gender expansive youth how to code. I also consider myself an athlete. But my most important job is being a mom to my two young boys.

It’s definitely changed! Growing up in the Midwest, I learned to love food from an early age and still love to indulge now. But it’s all about balance, maintaining a healthy relationship with food, and understanding what makes me feel my best. 

As I have gotten older, and through my pregnancies, my relationship to my body and focus on overall wellness has become a lot more holistic. It’s not about fitting into a certain size; it’s about taking care of my body from the inside out so I can keep up with my busy life! 

6. What exercise and nutrition advice do you have for busy readers?

People are always asking me how to manage a busy lifestyle. I’d say finding a routine that works with your schedule is key. Even quick workouts can make a big difference! I try to aim for consistency over perfection.

When it comes to nutrition, I recommend focusing on foods that are packed with nutrients and give you lasting energy throughout the day. And don’t beat yourself up when you indulge – enjoy what you love!

7. You’ve mentioned that you are oddly competitive with yourself about rest! Can you talk about the importance of sleep?

Throughout my teens and twenties, between school, work, traveling, late nights, and early mornings, to try and squeeze in everything I needed to – the thing I would always compromise on if needed would be my sleep.

Something changed during the pandemic when I stopped constantly working and traveling, and actually prioritized my rest. It was life changing. I have found it has helped improve my skin quality, my mood, my energy... I felt like I was suddenly more present in every aspect of my life – my work, my work outs, my relationships. It was a major wake up for me.

So now, I keep track of my sleep patterns and try to stay consistent, even when things get busy. Quality rest helps me do better in every part of my life.

8. People appreciate the importance of fueling for sports performance but fueling for mentally-taxing exercises (for example, coding) seems to fly a bit more under the radar. Can you talk about the importance of getting the nutrients you need to support your creative endeavors?

Research shows that our brains consume around 20 percent of our metabolic energy, so the idea of “brain food” is real! Nutrition and oxygen are crucial for optimal cognitive function, so I focus on foods rich in omega-3s and antioxidants. It's easy to say and harder to do, but staying hydrated, eating balanced meals, and limiting my sugar and caffeine intake help my concentration and creativity.

9. What other wellness topics or facts do you “geek out” over?

I'm a deep believer in the impact mindfulness exercises like meditation and yoga can have on your wellbeing. I'm fascinated by the science of nutrition and how different foods affect our organ function, our cellular health, and overall energy and mood. I'm also very interested in sustainable living and how it connects with personal health.

10. What insights or tips do you have for readers who want to exercise their mind? 

Exercising your mental muscles is just as important as going to the gym! When I have some downtime, I love to read, and I always set aside time every day for meditation, one of my favorite mindfulness exercises.

I’m also working on learning Spanish with my kids. I’m almost fluent in French, so that’s something I wanted them to start learning while they are young so they can use it for a lifetime.

Of thought, it's hard to digest that possibly her son and nephew are dating and had a child, and she only finds out now? - “No, fuck, of course not!” Gi Bao suddenly gets up and starts walking in circles, she was so distracted that she didn't realize she was thinking out loud. - “There’s no way this could have happened if your son is just a 5-year-old child while your nephew is so emotionally constipated that he can’t even talk to other teenagers.”

Once again, your mind pauses when you feel a touch on your shoulder, your fur rises slightly while, more calmly, your neck turns towards JiaHoa. His look, waiting for an answer, was so similar to the way her little baby looked at her that it was difficult not to feel calmer, regardless of the strangeness of this whole situation. - “Okay, I think you're waiting for an answer, well…” She looks to the side, seeing some gears scattered around, scratches her neck and looks back into JiaHoa's eyes. - “I think it’s possible that I know your parents, but I think it’s a little unlikely… And, oh! About my brand, well, it’s just paint.” Gi Bao peels off some of the blue paint on his face, just as if to prove his point. To tell the truth I'm not even sure why I keep doing this, I think maybe it's just to remember the old times…”

His expression softens in an almost melancholy manner, but his eyebrows curl with a certain anger. When he notices, his expression returns to normal, a little tiredness and a certain undeniable tenderness for the sweet and talkative boy. - “Sorry, I think I went on another tangent. Nice to meet you, my name is Gi Bao, and you can call me grandmother if you want. And I accept the offer of tea, if it has sugar it could be four spoonfuls; The advantages of semi-immortality, I’m not even at risk of having diabetes, reheh” Gi Bao laughs at his own comment as if it were a great joke. “And if there’s water I can clean my face, since apparently blue scares you.” Gi Bao smiles sweetly, almost in a motherly way.

the camera pans to you two sitting down, the director asks, “so will we see you holding hands more often?”

“yes, definitely!” jimin answers, beaming. you splutter indignantly while hiding your red face in your hair.

she turns to you, “i said we would hold hands more, right?”

"Happy birthday, Virgil!"

Virgil makes a muffled snort noise into their pillow, their eyes still stubbornly closed.

"Mmph," he complains. He feels Emile's hand descend into his hair, scritching at his scalp gently, and he relaxes into a compliant puddle on the bed. "Mmm," Virgil says, eyes half-closed in happiness.

"You melted them," Remy comments from the side. Virgil feels the bed dip as Remy crawls into the bed with them. Remy flops across Virgil's lower back, making Virgil huff in mock displeasure.

"Be nice," Emile admonishes, although Virgil can hear the smile in their voice. "It's Virgil's birthday."

"I know that," Remy exclaims. Virgil squints over his shoulder to see Remy dramatically splay a hand across his forehead. "I would never dream of trying to spoil Virge's birthday, babe."

"Uh huh," Emile deadpans. "Anyway, Virgil, it's your day, sweetheart. What do you want to do?"

"Dunno," Virgil mumbles. "Can I stay in bed all day and cuddle?" He can practically feel the other two exchange a look.

"I mean, yes," Emile says slowly. "But are you sure that's all you want to do?"

"I don't know," Virgil admits. "I just-" He sighs. His birthday has always been a clusterfuck of complicated feelings thanks to family bullshit, and he knows what's coming up next month isn't making it any easier.

It's been nearly two years since his last suicide attempt.

"I know, love," Emile says, soothing, pressing a kiss to the back of Virgil's fluffy purple hair. "I know."

"So proud of you, babe," Remy murmurs, rubbing warm circles into Virgil's back and slowly relaxing them again. "So glad we know you. So glad I know you."

"Love you," Virgil says, drowsy and so full of affection, it feels like his heart might burst already. "Can we go to the sweets shop?" He asks suddenly. "I just- you know how I feel about sweet things-"

"It is your birthday," Emile agrees, planting another kiss on the side of Virgil's head as they get up. Virgil mourns the loss of their warmth. "Of course we can."

"Oh no," Remy laughs as he stands up. "The two of you, plotting to get sweet things? Your teeth are fucked."

"Good," Virgil says defiantly, rolling over and blinking at the light. "It's my birthday. Sugar doesn't count."

"I don't think that's how it works," Emile says, but their lips are twitching like they want to laugh.

"You're a therapist, not a medical doctor," Virgil points out. "Or a dentist. Sugar is good for both of us."

"Well, can't argue with that," Emile says, extending a hand. "Come on, darling. Out of bed."

"Fine," Virgil says, accepting Emile's hand and letting Emile carefully pull them upright. The room spins for a moment anyway, but quickly stabilizes. Virgil grins at both Emile and Remy, running his free hand through unruly purple hair.

"Wanna wear your pretty skirt?" Remy asks, his eyes a little too bright. 

"Which one?" Virgil asks primly, but they know which one Remy means. It is purple and black plaid, and it swishes around Virgil's knees. It comes with a belt, and Virgil loves it.

"The pretty one," Remy insists. "You could wear that pretty purple top with it?" He wheedles. "And- and fishnets, and-"

"Am I a dress up doll?" Virgil asks, amused. Red stains Remy's cheeks.

"Yes," he says, doubling down. "My pretty dress up doll. Pretty girl. Pretty boy." Virgil's face flushes at the praise.

"Oh, fine," he says. Remy grins, whirling to rummage through the closet.

"Are you picking my outfit out, too, or are we just focused on the birthday girl today?" Emile asks, clearly amused.

"Birthday boy!" Remy shouts back. "Wear something pretty, sweetheart."

By the time they're all dressed, Virgil is in the aforementioned purple outfit, and Emile had picked something with pink flowers. Remy's just in his usual jeans and a tee shirt, but his leather jacket and sunglasses are omnipresent.

"Beautiful," Remy claims, his mouth descending on Virgil's. It is sweet and short and perfect, Virgil thinks dizzily as his hands brace himself against Remy's shoulders. Remy is nearly a foot taller than him, but he doesn't care.

Emile's next, bending their head and pressing a kiss to Virgil's mouth. Virgil flings their arms around Emile's neck, pulling them closer and making Emile laugh against their lips.

"Sweet shop," Emile says. "Birthday girl gets to play music on the way."

"Yes!" Virgil cheers as they make their way out to the car. "Sorry, Remy," he sasses, slipping into the passenger seat in the front. He does pull the seat up to accommodate Remy's long legs, though, mindful of his comfort as Remy slouches in the back seat.

They chat about everything and nothing on the way, accompanied by Virgil's emo playlist, low in the background. While Emile finds a parking space, Virgil looks around, hands unconsciously flapping in their lap. There's no snow, but it is chilly outside, and Virgil's glad that he chose to wear his hoodie over his outfit.

"This way," Emile says, tugging Remy and Virgil toward the sweets shop. Eagerly, Virgil follows. There is a dog in line, a soft brown one with soulful eyes and a gently wagging tail. 

"Can I pet them?" Virgil asks shyly. The owner, a person wearing pink-framed glasses on a chain, nods, twining the leash around their hand. They have a Sanrio backpack in the shape of Cinnamoroll's head, and Virgil thinks it's adorable.

Emile fawns over the dog, a bright smile lighting up their features. Remy stands back a little, but he also deigns to pet the dog. Virgil's hand sinks into the soft fur, and they hum happily.

"Their name is Honey," the owner informs them.

"I love them," Emile declares. Virgil giggles.

"Oops, my turn," the dog's owner says, their face turning red. It's their turn next. They all order an iced vanilla latte, Virgil opting to have his with almond milk. His eyes scan the sweet options on display, finally settling on a chocolate eclair. Emile gets a cannoli and Remy opts for a type of danish. They sit near Honey the dog, and Virgil catches Emile surreptitiously petting and mooning over her three separate times before their order is ready.

"Happy birthday, darling," Remy murmurs into their ear as he sets their drink and eclair down in front of them. Virgil blushes out to his ears.

"Thank you," Virgil says. He eyes Emile. "You can't steal the dog," he mutters.

"Okay but listen, we need a dog," Emile says, widening their eyes to look more innocent. "Look at how fluffy she is. She's adorable. Perfect. Mine." Honey's owner snorts into their drink and Virgil laughs.

"I don't think her owner agrees with you," Virgil points out, and Emile grins, a mischievous look in brown eyes.

"Anyway," Emile says loftily, finally turning away from the fluffy charms of Honey the dog and applying themself to their cannoli. "What else do you want to do today, love?"

"Spend time with you both," Virgil answers, nibbling on their eclair. "I just- It's nice. I like spending time with you."

"Same, darling," Remy says, leaning on Virgil's shoulder and poking them with his chin. 

"You're both so sweet," Virgil says, a little bit dreamy.

"Never," Remy denies, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"I am," Emile says plainly, and Virgil grins at them.

"I'm glad I'm still alive," Virgil says, sudden, as the thought strikes them. Remy's and Emile's faces both soften. 

"So are we, darling," Remy says. Emile lifts Virgil's hand and presses a kiss to his knuckles. "So are we."

it’s so weird to me how oblivious people are to the reason why adam mcintyre took so long to be taken seriously by the whole internet. i keep seeing posts questioning why this was all swept under the rug three years ago, but the answer is so obvious to me. adam was a child during his relationship with colleen and was still a minor when he came forward about his experiences. most of colleen/miranda’s fans are all underage. most people “grow out of” miranda sings as they get older, and likely never interact with her content again. i have friends who have and i myself grew out of miranda’s content, forgetting about it rather than processing how weird her videos and live shows were. 

 obviously the other people in the same position as him were too young to understand how truly odd it is for a THIRTY+ YEAR OLD WOMAN to be engaging with her underage fans the way she did. they all either had been in or would die to be in adam’s shoes! every teenager would probably shit themselves to directly interact with someone they consider famous or even more so their idol. but as you get older, and you start to understand “oh, actually, that was really weird,” it’s harder to ignore what you or others have gone through. the people adam considered friends who turned against him were all still confused about their position and importance in colleen’s life, but more than half of them probably got dropped (if not all) after her apology in 2020. and that probably made them think, “wait, if colleen thinks our relationship is inappropriate enough to abandon me, then maybe it was inappropriate the whole time.” 

i wouldn’t be surprised to find out that less than 10% of colleen’s fans are over the age of 18. in fact it would be interesting if through all this she is pressured to, or someone does the hacking to, release her analytics information showing that a majority of her fans are ages 12-16. i know i stopped watching her at about 15 years old. i was embarrassed of MY humor, not hers. i closed that chapter of gross, inappropriate, sometimes offensive humor and never looked back. even though she was a grown ass woman promoting the humor she does to a “pg13 audience,” i never thought about it for how serious it was. because i didn’t know, because i was just a kid.

i feel like the internet has just started realizing in the last 5, maybe 7 years, that NO adult/minor internet relationship is appropriate. unless there’s a reason, like work/school/family, there’s no excuse for a famous internet personality to be speaking almost daily with a minor. a minor doesn’t need to know about your relationship issues, work drama, or any weird miniscule details about your life. there’s no reason, with such different stages in each person’s life, to be interacting with one another. 

the reason adam was ignored all those years ago was because an adult who was directly involved called him a liar. to which other adults who see no reason to interact with a minor because they’re not fucking weirdos, went “okay, this minor is not my business” and disappeared from the situation. while other under-18′s who didn’t have the life experience to know better, went along and destroyed adam’s internet presence in favor of colleen. and now, that same adult who was directly involved (kodee tyler) admitted they lied (to save herself from impending fallout), so this situation is back in the spotlight because adults will only listen to other adults. and now, because adam is an adult too, other adults feel comfortable getting the story straight from him.

but anyway, i think we need to stop asking why he was ignored for so long and instead ask ourselves how we can prevent this from happening to other teens on the internet. to me it’s obvious this was able to go on so long because colleen’s internet personality is targeted directly towards minors and so only minors were involved in or witnessed the drama. now they’re old enough to conceptualize what adam (or they themselves) went through, speak out about it, and actually be taken seriously because they have grown into adults themselves.
